The Design Process and Next Steps

Road map to the design process for Drehid
High level review of the country to identify potential areas suitable for wind energy assessment A Project Study Area was identified
Environmental & other constraints were identified
Site specific surveys are carried out on a preliminary layout to ground truth the information available Site specific surveys and studies were undertaken
A design layout emerged of this project
The initial design layout of this project consists of 14 Turbines
Consultation commenced with the public, local authorities and interested parties based on the design layout The design layout was presented to the public, local authorities and other interested parties and feedback was received on various aspects of the project
Surveys & Design Feedback from meetings with the public and other interested parties informed the design team and influenced the path of the project
Detailed site specific studies and surveys were carried out including ground investigations, ecology, noise, hydrology, human environment, archeology, landscape etc. These surveys will continue throughout the design process
A Technical appraisal was carried out
Discussions with the local community continued throughout the design process
Design Review - Interpretation and incorporation of information gathered & Ongoing Consultation Information from the detailed site specific surveys, technical appraisals and all feedback from consultation with the public, local authorities and interested parties was taken into consideration
